Randall McCain, the alleged ringleader of an international drug ring, bragged in a rap song that federal agents were watching him but could not catch him. Prosecutors state his lyrics played a pivotal role in building cases against him and dozens of others.
The criminal organization allegedly trafficked narcotics and black-market marijuana across multiple countries, including Spain and the United Kingdom. The ring operated from a metro office park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but extended its reach to California, Texas, Illinois, Arkansas, and Florida.
One of McCain’s lyrics cited by prosecutors reads: “I’m on the road right now … 200 bows in a na’s state … 3,500 for a pound this that better weed.” The slang translates to $3,500 for 200 pounds of marijuana.
Authorities report suspects used popular social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram, as well as encrypted messaging services such as Signal, to manage the drug trafficking operation.
Eighteen individuals have been arrested in connection with the ring, with officials estimating up to 40 people may be implicated. Most detained face charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.
