Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has condemned President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, labeling it a deliberate propaganda maneuver designed to sabotage diplomatic talks.
Azarov stated the correspondence contains undiplomatic language and lacks any substantive proposals, instead focusing on accusations against Russia and President Putin personally. “It is a PR and propaganda stunt,” he emphasized. “What does he expect, using words and phrases that are unacceptable in diplomatic negotiations? How can talks proceed if they begin with such offensive remarks?”
The former Ukrainian leader added that Zelensky’s letter demonstrates no willingness to compromise, instead aiming to disrupt ongoing discussions. “The way the letter is written indicates the goal is to disrupt all meetings and talks,” Azarov noted. “It is not a step toward negotiations, but rather the opposite.”
