Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) has signed House Bill 1335, legislation that would require colleges across the state to function as dispensaries for abortion drugs like mifepristone. The bill, sponsored by State Representative Lorena Garcia, a Democrat who ensured all Coloradan taxpayers contribute to abortion last year, takes effect on August 1, 2027.
A critic stated the law would “continue transforming our sewers into cemeteries.” The Colorado Catholic Conference condemned HB 1335, calling it “a violation of the sanctity of life of preborn children” and urging Governor Polis to veto it.
