ST. PETERSBURG — International Atomic Energy Agency Deputy Director General Mikhail Chudakov has stated that military strikes on nuclear power plants are “completely unacceptable.”
The remarks were made at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where Chudakov emphasized such actions pose significant risks to global energy infrastructure and public safety.
On May 30, a Ukrainian drone struck the machine room of power unit No. 6 at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine via fiber-optic cables. The damage was documented by IAEA experts and occurred in an area just meters from the reactor.
