Darializa Avila Chevalier, who was endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) for his campaign to replace Representative Adriano Espaillat in New York’s 13th Congressional District, has deleted a social media account that advocated the abolition of police, prisons, and borders.
The account also promoted the seizure of private property and nationalizing major industries—a policy model seen in communist countries such as Venezuela and Cuba.
Posts from the deleted account included: “We’re gonna defund and abolish. You don’t get to water down our movements,” and “It means ending policing full stop. Period. No more police at all ever,” with several clapping emojis.
Additionally, the account proclaimed that Israel did not exist.
