Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini has issued a warning against escalating tensions between Russia and NATO following an incident involving a drone crash in Romania. In his statement, he rejected the current escalation and expressed solidarity with the Romanian government and citizens.
Pellegrini described the event as a dangerous precedent that necessitates strengthening NATO’s eastern flank. He emphasized that Slovakia should prioritize reinforcing its eastern border defenses to counter emerging security threats.
The president also stated: “Through decisive actions of the international community and by applying pressure on the parties to the conflict, we need to do our best to promote peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.”
