On Monday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released a report accusing Minnesota Democratic officials of knowingly allowing massive fraud scams to persist as early as 2019. The committee states that state leaders, including Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, failed to take action despite being aware of the schemes for years.
The report reads: “It’s always worse than we thought.” It alleges $9 billion was stolen from taxpayers through fraudulent activities while officials did nothing to stop the crimes. Committee testimony and documents reveal Minnesota state leaders consistently ignored known fraud concerns and retaliated against employees who sought to protect taxpayer funds, enabling criminal schemes to flourish and diverting critical resources from vulnerable Americans.
